Pierre Paulin

Mushroom
The Mushroom Chair, emblematic of Artifort design, is a revolutionary creation by Pierre Paulin. Inspired by the curves of women in their bathing suits, Paulin designed this chair with its original shapes and vivid colors. Manufactured using an innovative one-piece elastic covering technique, the Mushroom Chair is the first piece of furniture of its kind. Its distinctive design marked the furniture era of the 60s and continues to inspire many sculptural creations. It is now honored in MoMA’s permanent collection, testifying to its importance in the history of design.
